The Science of Writing

It's common knowledge that high temperatures cause water to evaporate. I wonder if they cause creativity to disappear as well because mine has flown out the window.

I have written nothing since early May. I pull out my notes, glance at them, maybe jot down something about the characters, open the story file, look at the screen, close the file and leave my office.

What's wrong? Where has the desire to write gone? Why has something that used to bring me such joy turned into something that's about as fun as a root canal?

If anyone has an answer, I'd sure as hell love to have it.
